| Nestled in the foothills of Acadia National Park, Eden Rising has been
open for business for over fifteen years. As of October 2000, we proudly announced the grand opening of our
online store with an eclectic blend of gifts from the Far East to New England. Eden, Bar Harbor's original name,
conjures idyllic & positive images and feelings. Rising, moreover, denotes ascending and improving.
We at Eden Rising are therefore committed to offering gifts of abundance from around
the world as reminders and instruments of serenity and joy.
Eden Rising is family run and open for business
April through the New Year. Grandparents, parents, sisters,
brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews all have a part in the
workings of the store and in Eden Rising's well being.
During the cold Maine winter months purchases are made by sister
and brother team Debra & Matthew. Traveling to far eastern lands such as
Nepal, Thailand, India, Bali, & other future locations, Debra
& Matthew meet with local families and choose gifts to send
home. In March and April well-traveled crates of treasures arrive
from afar and begin to fill the shelves and grace the walls of
Eden Rising. Masks, animal carvings, didgeridoos, bell &
dorji, drums, sweaters, dresses, chimes, Buddhas, jewelry, incense,
candles, divas and much more create the blissful grounding
atmosphere that ER is known for.

Local artisans including painters, potters, jewelers, writers, and musicians also display
their work and add to the exceptionally creative and distinctive ambiance. Eden Rising is always filled with friendly and
familiar faces. On any given day you can find locals
and visitors engaged in conversation or perhaps relaxing with a good book.
Beautiful Music fills the air as people explore
the store's many nooks and crannies. All are welcome to enjoy
the peace and abundance that Eden Rising has to offer. We hope to see
