Hawk Henries
Hawk is a member of the Chabuna-gungamaug Band of the Nipmunk Nation. Hawk's experience spans many venues, and he plays for audiences of all sizes. He not only is an accomplished musician but also a crafted artisan. Hawk makes eastern woodland flutes by hand and teaches the art of flute making to adults and children. Each flute is created from a single piece of wood using only hand tools and fire. "When one handles a flute and when it is given a voice, all of these qualities can be heard and felt." Much of Hawk's time is spent sharing information about life and more specifically,
CD Keeping the Fire - Eastern woodlands flute. Produced by John Dyer and Hawk
Henries 1999. Total play time 61:03.
